Punchout / Warranty Technician

The Punchout / Warranty Technician is responsible for completing final punch-list items, warranty work, and service calls in newly completed and occupied homes. We operate as a team with the shared goal of delivering an exceptional homeowner experience. We are deadline-driven and reward team members who consistently produce high-quality work while accomplishing the most.

This position is ideal for someone who is highly versatile—a true problem solver who can handle a wide range of finish and repair work with minimal supervision. The right candidate takes pride in quality craftsmanship, communicates professionally with homeowners, and represents our company with integrity in the field.

Redknot Core Values

We live by these values and hire, review, reward, and recognize our team members based on them.

  1. Work efficiently and prioritize appropriately to meet deadlines.

  2. Identify problems and improve the process. Every issue identified should lead to a better process.

  3. Be a team player—be people smart, humble, and hungry.

  4. Be the expert and take pride in your work. Continuously learn through reading, training, and collaboration with experts.

  5. Over-communicate. Clear communication with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and teammates is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Complete final punch-list items prior to homeowner move-in.

  • Perform warranty and service work in occupied homes.

  • Diagnose and repair residential construction-related issues efficiently.

  • Complete a variety of repair tasks, including:

    • Trim and finish carpentry repairs

    • Door and hardware adjustments

    • Cabinet and drawer alignment

    • Drywall patching and repair

    • Caulking and sealing

    • Paint touch-ups

    • Minor tile, flooring, and grout repairs

    • Basic plumbing fixture adjustments

    • Minor electrical fixture replacements (switches, outlets, and light fixtures)

  • Identify root causes of issues rather than simply treating symptoms.

  • Communicate clearly with project managers and office staff.

  • Maintain organized records of completed warranty and service work.

  • Keep work areas clean and protect finished surfaces inside client homes.

  • Complete daily work logs.

  • Follow all job site safety procedures.

  • Ensure the safekeeping of homes, building materials, and finishes while on site.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of residential construction, carpentry, remodeling, or handyman experience preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of residential construction methods and finish materials.

  • Ability to perform high-quality repairs across multiple trades.

  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and effectively manage daily workload.

  • Strong attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship.

  • Professional, courteous communication with homeowners.

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

  • Ability to provide standard hand tools and cordless tools. Specialty equipment and materials may be provided by the company.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive hourly wage, paid bi-weekly

  • Paid Time Off (PTO)

  • Paid company holidays

  • Company-sponsored 401(k) plan with employer match

  • Company-provided iPhone with service

  • Company-provided laptop and tablet, as needed

  • Truck and fuel allowance (reliable, professional-looking pickup truck required)

  • Ongoing technical and job-related training
