Assists with the implementation of goals and objectives for the Teen Wellness Program. Supports CAPSLOs mission by providing assistance to health programs for local were looking for in the ideal candidate:Health Educator I:BA/BS degree in Social Science Family Studies Child Development Health Education Health Sciences Psychology or related working with adolescents is in providing health education and public speaking in two or more languages including one that supports the needs of the program and community is preferred but not requiredHealth Educator II:BA/BS degree in Social Science Family Studies Child Development Health Education Health Sciences Psychology or related have 1 year of on-the-job experience proficiently fulfilling the Essential Functions of a Wellness Health Educator working with adolescents is in providing health education and public speaking in two or more languages including one that supports the needs of the program and community is preferred but not requiredHealth Educator III:BA/BS degree in Social Science Family Studies Child Development Health Education Health Sciences Psychology or related field. Must have 1 years of on-the-job experience proficiently fulfilling the Essential Functions of a Wellness Health Educator have necessary health and/or fitness certifications accredited from a qualified and reputable agency as required by programs scope of working with adolescents is in providing health education and public speaking in two or more languages including one that supports the needs of the program and community is preferred but not requiredAll Levels:Depending on the department assigned a valid California drivers license a current DMV driving record and proof of insurance may be required to fulfill job-related travel. For positions where driving is an essential function of the job candidates must be at least 21 years of age and have a minimum of three (3) years of driving experience. Reasonable accommodations will be considered in accordance with applicable a Wellness Health Educator you will:Deliver engaging health and wellness education to youth in school and community settings on topics such as healthy relationships reproductive health mental health substance use prevention nutrition physical activity and overall engage and support youth participation in wellness programs clubs workgroups workshops and special health coaching education referrals and resources that empower youth and families to make informed decisions and advocate for their digital platforms including social media websites podcasts and other online tools to develop and share youth-focused health education and prevention and maintain collaborative relationships with schools community organizations healthcare providers youth-serving professionals volunteers and local partners to support program with the planning coordination implementation and evaluation of wellness programs projects meetings trainings and community maintain analyze and report program data while ensuring accurate records and compliance with program update and implement educational curricula training materials presentations and outreach resources to ensure accuracy effectiveness and staff development through training mentoring observations quality assurance activities and the coordination of team the program at community meetings collaborative groups committees conferences and professional development with grant-related activities reports program development and other initiatives designed to expand and strengthen youth wellness all agency safety practices and perform other related duties as note this job advertisement is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
